I promised an update.
We started the same way I did last session, walking away and tapping the ground lightly with the stick & string. She took off around me in circles and nearly pulled the 12 ft from my hands. So, I changed to the 22 ft, took her over to the side of the wooden corral ( it was enough fence to do this with!) and I began again, with my back to the fence and she tried to run and I let her.
Within five minutes she'd learned to stand still and just watch me "act crazy".
So then I walked from the fence and kept up the movements and asked her to follow, she did.
Very slow and cautious but she did.
I'm very pleased with how the session went and we ended on a note of some cone-knocking and carrot stretches! ;D
