I know, I know!
Right after I committed to blogging twice a day, I don't blog.. at all.
and I haven't had time to make out my checklist. (It will get done TODAY! I promise.)
In my defense, I was only here until noon and then I spent the day with my dad in Greenville and we got back around 10:00 at night. I was totally exhausted!
But, before we left I did get in some playtime with Ladybug.
I did remember to make a plan before going out there.

8:00 am - Game Plan:
  • Assess driving game. "Get a backwards yield, FQ yield and HQ yield without touching your horse."
  • Work on yo yo game. " Stand in a hula hoop and try to get at least two steps backwards without moving your feet." *remember to use phases, giving each phase a full three seconds before moving to the next one.*

11:00 am - Results:

Yo yo game: We got our two steps! I remembered my phases and I stayed in the hula hoop!

When I back Lady away from me she goes RBI and she'll drop her head, go totally introverted and then try to come back to me.

Today for the first time, I made her stay there and work through the introversion on her own. I noticed that she is very quick going in and out of it and when she comes out she would start eating grass. I let her nibble for a little bit as a treat for staying there and then I reeled her in and rested/snuggled.

Then began again. About the fourth time she didn't go introverted when I backed her (also we used a phase 2/3 rather than a 3/4 as usual) she licked her lips and sighed instead and stood there looking at me with her ears forward as if she understood and she was waiting for me to reel her in. It went really well!

That was our stopping point. End on a good note and all that jazz.

I pretty much threw the rest of the plan out the window because of how Introverted she was. She wasn't pushy, dominant or... confident at all and no nudging me for treats. She was worried, quiet and very clingy. So I spent the rest of our time just being there with her and I think it was time well spent.

Now to work on my checklist! I'll post again in a while, talking about my game plan for today.

Yours naturally,

Katie
